HabitatPrefers cold climates, well-drained, acidic soil. Dislikes heat and dry air. Prefers full sun and partial shade. Narrow, pointed, spire-like crown of spreading branches and aromatic foliage. It is troubled by spruce budworm, woolly aphid and several canker diseases and is heavily browsed by deer. Songbirds and squirrels eat seed and deer browse foliage. Attracts Birds, Butterflies
